How it works
A focus session, start to finish
TimerFocus follows the 25/5 focus method: focus for 25 minutes, rest for 5, and take a longer break after four blocks. The music does the rest.
- 01
Settle in
Pick one task and press Start. The music fades in and the night sky slowly darkens as the minutes pass.
- 02
Deep work
No pop-ups, no streaks, no feed. Just the time left, a quiet tape of instrumental lofi, and the task in front of you.
- 03
Breathe
A soft chime marks the break. The music drifts into the next room, the horizon glows, and you get up and stretch.

The method
Short blocks. Real breaks.
A finish line you can see makes it easier to start, and a short break lets your attention reset before the next block. Use the classic 25/5, or drag the dial to 50/10 for writing and code.
Frequently asked questions
Is TimerFocus free?
Yes. No account, no ads, no cookies and no analytics. Your timer settings are saved only in your own browser.
What is the 25/5 focus method?
Work for 25 minutes, rest for 5, and take a longer break after four blocks. It's based on the time-management idea popularized by Francesco Cirillo's Pomodoro® Technique. Read the full guide.
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. It counts from the real clock, so it stays accurate even when your browser slows background tabs. The tab title shows the time left, a soft chime plays at the end, and you can turn on a notification.
Why does the music get quieter during breaks?
On breaks, the music moves into the "next room": slightly softer and muffled, so you notice the break without a sudden silence. It opens back up when the next focus block starts.
Can I use this music in my videos or streams?
Yes. All tracks are by Purrple Cat and licensed CC BY 4.0. Credit it like this: Music: Purrple Cat (purrplecat.com), licensed under CC BY 4.0. See how to credit CC BY music.
Can I use it with just the keyboard?
Yes. Press Space to start or pause, R to reset, N to skip to the next phase and M to toggle music. Tab to the dial and use the arrow keys to change the length (hold Shift for 5-minute steps).
